The Appnext Timeline technology finally allows advertisers to target with context by leveraging location, real-time and historical behavioral patterns. Appnext’s technology enables you to engage your users at the right moment, when they are most likely to use the app.
You can also choose to assign specific creatives (text/image/video) exclusively for re-engagement campaigns. To utilize the Timeline, you simply need to define your preferred Places and Moments!
With ‘Places’, you can reach users at home, work or when they are travelling abroad. You can select any, or all 3 options.
With ‘Moments’, you are able to target a large variety of specific moments in your user’s daily routine.
In the image below you can see options include; “Lifestyle” (shopping, ordering food, booking vacations, exercising) “Media” (using camera, watching video, listening to music), “Transportation” (using public transport, ordering a taxi), etc.
To use Moments effectively, you must carefully consider when engaged users are most likely to need/use their app. Is this whilst commuting? On a lunch break? Wrapping up their day before bed? The technology allows advertisers to tap into users’ daily timelines, reaching them at crucial moments throughout their day.
For example, if you were promoting a food delivery app, you could focus your advertising budget by reaching users when they are likely to be hungry, ie. on lunch break, leaving work or arriving home.
A good technique is to match a creative to a selected Moment. For example you could promote a game app using an image with the phrase, “Got time to spare before work?” in conjunction with the Leaving Home and Public Transportation moments. Alternatively, you can use the same moments for a taxi app with a creative that says; “Get to work faster!”
When testing different creative concepts that correspond with your Moment it's important to set up separate campaigns, to allow comparisons to be made.
To see how effective your moment selections are → open a test campaigns for each unique Moment → study the results.
Remember you can use the new template tool to save your settings and easily apply them again later. Simply name the campaign at the bottom of the first page of campaign setup!
