We’ve made an important update to the way we define ad impressions.
Starting September 28, 2016, Appnext counts viewable impressions rather than served impressions. This update is based on viewability standards as defined by the IAB and MRC.
An ad impression is now considered viewable when 50% of an ad’s pixels are in view on the screen alongside with user uniqueness filters.
The impressions count you see in your Appnext account will now show you the number of measured viewable impressions, allowing you to optimize your ad implementation while maintaining a clearer definition of an ad impression across apps.
This update will gradually take effect during the months of September and October 2016 for all Appnext ads.
What do I need to do?
You are not required to take any action. As this measurement change rolls out, you may notice some differences in the ad metrics in your account, i.e. impressions, CPM and clicks.
